So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some installation tips:
Thoroughly clean wall and make sure it is free of moisture. For newly colored walls let paint "cure" for 10 to 15 days prior to applying decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may continue to need to settle and fully cure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not suggested on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very textured and porous surfaces, wallpaper or delicate surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile as long as the surface is clean and absolutely free of moisture during installation. Make certain the design element does not overlap grout area as water might leak under and damage the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, provided that they are placed snugly onto the surface area so moisture can't get under the design element. Once placed, RoomMates should not move even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals can't be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they must not be placed on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may stick to the adhesive and damage the product. Also, don't position at the bottom or inside the tub. Water could seep underneath the design element too easily and would damage the adhesive. When applying, make sure you begin from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the other parts of the element at a distance from the wall/surface. Gradually go down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto area (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you should be able to move any excess bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the section. If the difficulty continues (this would solely occur with the giant decals), you can punch a very small (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to drive the air out.
In all, it will always be best to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface area is textured, performance could be significantly reduced. Ensure that surface is clean of dust and dirt or you may damage the adhesive and wreck the item. Multimedia |
